General Manager - Greenhouse Operations

An industry leader in sustainable agriculture is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee operations at a state of the art greenhouse facility, located in Ohio. This is a pivotal role responsible for driving operational excellence, food safety compliance, and team leadership within a rapidly growing environment focused on innovation and sustainability.

The role:

We are seeking a motivated and hands on General Manager to join their growing team. This is a newly created role designed to support their expanding operations. As the General Manager you will lead all day to day functions of the greenhouse operations. You will lead a team of 40-50 employees with 3-4 direct reports. You will be responsible for managing performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

In this role, you will oversee the daily operations across all production and greenhouse functions, ensuring smooth and efficient work flow throughout the facility. A strong focus on regulatory compliance is essential, as you will be responsible for maintaining adherence to SQF, OSHA, and other applicable safety and food standards. You will manager operational budgets, optimize resource allocation, and implement cost control measures to support financial performance. Additionally, you will lead, and develop a high performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. What you need:

• Leadership experience in Greenhouse / Horticulture is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of SQF and OSHA regulations
• Experience managing budgets, performance metrics, and cross functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to lead front line teams and develop leadership talent
