Fire Protection Engineer

The MEP team are partnered with a leading MEP firm located within the DMV area.

I am currently searching for a seasoned Fire Protection Engineer/Fire Protection Practice Leader to join an employee-focused MEP firm, where your welfare and wellbeing drive every decision.

Highlights of the role -

• Own the full fire‑protection design lifecycle: drawings, specifications, studies, reports and proposals
• Lead construction‑administration: RFIs, submittals, punch‑lists and on‑site reviews
• Mentor junior engineers, championing technical excellence and a supportive culture
• Collaborate with architects, MEP colleagues and clients to craft compliant, innovative solutions

Ideally, you will have -

• PE license - in one or more of the following states - DC, MD, VA, FL
• FPE license - (although not mandatory - the company will support you in obtaining this)
• At least 5 years' fire‑protection engineering experience on healthcare, commercial, mission-critical, or government projects
• Proven project‑management and client‑relationship skills
• Engineering Degree preferred, but demonstrable expertise matters most
• A proactive learner who stays current with evolving codes, materials and technologies
