We'd love to hear from you. Send us your CV and one of our specialist consultants will be in touch.
I'm currently partnered with a fast-growing aerospace organization that designs, builds, and operates one of the most advanced commercial space platforms in orbit today. They're looking for an Engineering Manager who wants to remain deeply technical while leading a small, senior team working on mission-critical embedded and flight software.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both building and coaching - whether you come from an engineering manager background, a tech lead role, or you've previously founded or led a technical team and want to stay hands-on.
The Role:
Lead and support a 5-6 person engineering team responsible for real-time flight and embedded software.
Remain hands-on (~50%): writing Rust, reviewing code, shaping system architecture, and contributing to technical strategy.
Work closely with hardware, firmware, GNC, and radar teams to integrate software with complex spacecraft systems.
Drive execution, prioritization, hiring, career development, and team health.
Influence major decisions around reliability, autonomy, and on-orbit performance.
The Person:
Strong experience in Rust, or deep systems experience in C/C++ with a genuine interest in moving into Rust quickly.
Track record in embedded systems, real-time software, flight software, avionics, or other high-reliability technical environments.
Experience leading engineers - formal management, team leadership, founding engineer, ex-CTO/Director, or similar hybrid background.
Someone who enjoys both the technical depth and people leadership sides of the role.
Ability to thrive in a high-tempo, engineering-driven environment.
U.S. Person status (citizen or green card holder).
