I am working with a leading beef manufacturing company known for producing high-quality products with a focus on safety, innovation, and operational excellence. As our operations continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead all engineering, maintenance, and capital project initiatives across our beef processing facility.
Role Overview
The Engineering Manager will oversee the planning, development, and execution of engineering and maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability, plant efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards. This role requires a strong technical background, hands-on leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure optimal equipment uptime and reliability.
Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for all plant systems.
Manage capital projects from concept to completion, including design, budgeting, vendor management, and installation.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and food safety regulations, including OSHA and USDA/FSIS requirements.
Partner with production, quality, and operations teams to improve equipment performance and process flow.
Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and energy-efficient solutions to enhance productivity.
Develop and manage annual engineering and maintenance budgets.
Maintain accurate documentation, including drawings, manuals, and maintenance records.
Lead and mentor the engineering and maintenance teams, promoting skill development and accountability.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations through data-driven problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline).
7+ years of experience in engineering or maintenance management within beef, meat, or food manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, refrigeration, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC-controlled equipment.
Proven experience managing capital projects and maintenance programs.
Solid understanding of HACCP, GMP, and USDA/FSIS requirements.
Demonstrated leadership ability with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
