The Sales Director is responsible for developing and executing the commercial sales strategy for poultry products across assigned channels and customers. This role drives revenue growth, margin performance, and customer relationships while aligning sales execution with production capabilities, market conditions, and corporate objectives. The position requires deep knowledge of the U.S. poultry market, pricing dynamics, and customer needs.
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve volume, revenue, and margin targets
Lead pricing strategy in alignment with market conditions, cost inputs, and competitive landscape
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, customers, and distribution channels
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to align sales commitments with production capacity
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including retail, foodservice, and further processors
Lead contract negotiations, pricing agreements, and long-term supply arrangements
Serve as senior point of contact for strategic accounts and key customer escalations
Ensure high customer satisfaction through reliable service, communication, and issue resolution
Monitor poultry market trends, commodity pricing, and customer demand signals
Provide market intelligence and forecasting insights to senior leadership
Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows
Stay informed on regulatory, animal welfare, and sustainability requirements impacting customers
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team
Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability standards
Conduct regular performance reviews and talent development planning
Foster collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Service
Own sales forecasting, budgeting, and demand planning inputs
Track and report key sales metrics, including volume, margin, and customer profitability
Use CRM and sales analytics tools to drive data-based decision-making
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the commercial organization
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, or related field
8+ years of sales experience within the U.S. poultry or protein industry
3+ years of sales leadership or management experience
Strong understanding of poultry products, pricing structures, and customer channels
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and margin targets
Experience negotiating customer contracts and managing key accounts
Experience across multiple channels (retail, foodservice, export, or further processing)
Knowledge of commodity markets and protein supply-demand dynamics
MBA or advanced business degree
Experience working in vertically integrated poultry organizations
