A growing, well-capitalized organization in the heavy equipment industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to lead commercial strategy and sales execution across a key metropolitan market. This is a newly created position designed to support the company's continued expansion and long-term investment in the region.

With an established technical and service infrastructure already in place, the business is poised for significant commercial growth. The right candidate will play a pivotal role in driving that next phase, building high-performing teams, refining go-to-market strategy, and ensuring alignment across all revenue-generating activities.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales will lead a team of approximately 10 direct reports, including Sales Reps, Key Account Managers, and Customer Support Representatives. This role is responsible for full commercial oversight across new and used equipment sales, rentals, parts, and service.

This is a field-oriented leadership role with the flexibility to operate across the market. While there is some expected office presence, the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time in the field, working alongside the team, building customer relationships, and driving performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a market-specific sales strategy
  • Leading, coaching, and scaling a high-performing sales team
  • Driving performance across multiple revenue streams
  • Working cross-functionally with operations and service teams
  • Managing pipeline activity, forecasts, and team development
  • Playing a key role in strategic customer engagement and retention

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a commercially driven leader with a strong background in heavy equipment or a closely related sector. A track record of building and managing successful teams, combined with a hands-on leadership approach, will be essential.

Ideal background includes:

  • 4-7+ years of progressive sales leadership experience
  • Experience with any kind of heavy equipment, including but not limited to, Construction Equipment, Forklifts, Power Gen.
  • Experience managing multi-functional sales teams
  • Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills
  • A highly entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action
