Overview
A seasoned Senior Project Manager with deep expertise in data center construction is sought to lead projects from early concept through final handover. This role requires strong capabilities in pre-development planning, scheduling, design coordination, cost management, construction oversight, commissioning, and stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, managing complex builds while working closely with internal design, development, finance, marketing, and sales teams. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Support the onboarding of consultants and manage all site due-diligence activities.
Assess potential sites for design compatibility, feasibility, constraints, and risk.
Prepare and manage RFPs for consultant selection, oversee interviews, and provide recommendations.
Maintain project communication plans and team directories.
Establish and regularly update the master project budget and overall schedule.
Manage the project risk register and lead routine reviews.
Coordinate permitting and entitlements with local authorities.
Run RFP and selection processes for Construction Managers and support contract negotiations.
Oversee procurement activities and subcontractor selection, ensuring performance and quality.
Lead the design coordination process to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Track and close out design review comments and technical issues.
Identify design-related risks, constructability issues, and cost concerns.
Recommend value-engineering options to stay on budget and schedule.
Work closely with designers and contractors to prevent schedule delays.
Maintain the master schedule and track progress against key milestones.
Flag schedule risks early and recommend corrective measures.
Produce regular project reports aligned with internal or client standards.
Track decisions, action items, and follow-ups across stakeholders.
Lead contract negotiations with General Contractors and ensure appropriate risk controls.
Oversee BIM coordination, site observations, and construction meetings.
Conduct regular site walks to confirm quality and compliance.
Manage RFIs, submittals, and field issues; escalate when necessary.
Coordinate delivery and installation of equipment with internal technical teams.
Resolve minor on-site conflicts and adjust internal schedules as required.
Monitor and manage project budgets with up-to-date cost visibility.
Review and approve invoices, changes, and claims based on verified work.
Oversee procurement of long-lead equipment and track delivery/commissioning progress.
Manage owner-purchased items including IT, AV, and FF&E.
Lead contract negotiations, insurance compliance, accruals, forecasting, and accounting.
Direct and oversee all commissioning activities from start-up through testing and issue resolution.
Participate in commissioning meetings and ensure timely closeout of all issues.
Approve substantial and final completion and join final testing and walkthroughs.
Manage punch-list creation and closeout.
Coordinate final inspections and secure Certificates of Occupancy.
Deliver all documentation required for turnover to operations.
Complete final accounting, reporting, and project records.
10+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical construction.
Demonstrated success managing end-to-end project lifecycles and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Strong technical knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Highly driven and results-oriented.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
Expected base salary range: $175,000 - $225,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and market conditions.
Includes eligibility for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
