Summary


A market leading protein manufacturer is seeking a Complex Technical Site Manager. This role is accountable for developing and implementing strategies that enhance efficiency, reliability, and asset utilization, while reducing operational costs. The manager will offer both technical and operational guidance related to plant infrastructure, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. A key objective is to lead a strong Maintenance Excellence Program and foster a culture centered on prevention and continuous improvement.

This position supports production operations by minimizing equipment downtime, contributing to process improvements, and ensuring high reliability of all systems. Responsibilities also include enhancing and sustaining the facility's Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) program. The manager will oversee safe and efficient departmental operations by optimizing personnel, equipment, and resources. A solid understanding of infrastructure systems is essential to ensure safety and compliance with operational standards. Familiarity with BBS practices and relevant environmental and safety regulations is required. The role also involves leading a structured 5S Program and developing technical training programs in maintenance, TPM, and safety procedures such as LOTO and 6S.

The manager must effectively communicate change, implement new systems and procedures, and coordinate with training teams to identify skill gaps and develop appropriate training plans. A deep understanding of packaging equipment, system diagnostics, and troubleshooting is essential. The position also collaborates with engineering teams on capital project planning and execution, and may lead or participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies. Ensuring timely and high-quality work output is a key focus.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Continuously drive process improvements and departmental efficiency through optimized methods, enhanced equipment usage, and improved working conditions.

  • Design and manage plant and equipment upgrade projects aimed at long-term performance gains.

  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of maintenance personnel to ensure departmental needs are met.

  • Ensure all preventative and predictive maintenance activities are completed and properly documented.

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable safety and environmental laws and regulations during maintenance activities.

  • Develop long-term maintenance strategies and manage capital projects as assigned.

  • Provide leadership and direction to supervisors and associates, including performance management, coaching, and employee motivation.

  • Manage inventory and materials to prevent shortages and support operational continuity.

  • Ensure production schedules and operational goals are consistently met through effective workflow planning and adaptation.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall facility operations.

  • Identify and resolve safety risks within maintenance operations.

  • Actively engage in the facility's safety initiatives.

  • Maintain a clean, orderly maintenance area and storage space.

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality SOPs.

  • Understand how maintenance activities impact microbiological goals and support related preventative practices.
