We are looking for a Closure Superintendent to oversee closure activities, projects, and make operational recommendations. This role will plan, schedule and perform engineering tasks relating to the water management and infrastructure.
Work closely with team members on a variety of projects involving water management, land reclamation, engineering design, construction, and site closure. This includes contributing to defining project scope, timelines, and budgets.
Maintain open and effective communication with site teams to ensure smooth coordination and shared access to critical information needed to achieve common goals.
Oversee the creation, negotiation, and management of contracts for consultants and contractors.
Coordinate with the Engineer of Record for tailings storage facilities (TSFs) to verify that all onsite TSFs remain structurally sound and compliant with safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of five years' experience in mining, construction, or consulting.
Proven ability to manage projects related to water systems, land restoration, and decommissioning activities.
Understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts as they relate to the inspection and maintenance of TSFs is advantageous.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions, including uneven, sloped, wet, or icy areas; capable of safely lifting 50 pounds or more.
Must be available to respond to emergencies at any time, including weekends and nights.
Additional duties as assigned.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance requirements related to water management is considered beneficial.
