Business Development Manager

Location: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic or Midwest (Remote)

About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing environmental technology company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across the industrial water, wastewater and environmental treatment markets.

This is a strategic, customer-facing role focused on developing new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships and expanding the company's presence across municipal, industrial and environmental sectors. Working closely with engineering and leadership teams, you'll help deliver innovative treatment solutions to solve complex water and environmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest territories.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within municipal, industrial and environmental markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, engineering firms, contractors, consultants and channel partners.
  • Work closely with the Applications Engineering team to develop tailored technical solutions for customers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through proposal development and contract award.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows and customer events.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to support future business growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on commercial strategy and market expansion initiatives.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasting updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business or a related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales or commercial leadership within the water or environmental sectors.
  • Experience selling technical products, engineered systems or treatment solutions.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment, wastewater treatment, industrial water or environmental technologies.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and managing strategic customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 40-50% throughout the assigned territory.
