We're seeking an experienced Automation Solutions Engineer to play a pivotal role in bridging client needs with technical delivery. You'll work closely with sales, engineering, and service teams to design and implement tailored machine-level control solutions that enhance our modular conveyor and sorting systems for diverse industry applications.

This is a key role in a tight-knit Australian team backed by a strong global footprint combining technical depth with real-world impact. You'll enjoy variety, autonomy and the opportunity to travel interstate and internationally for commissioning and project support.

What you'll do:

  • Design and develop robust machine-level control architectures that align with company standards.
  • Define scalable project scopes and coordinate with trusted integration partners.
  • Develop and uphold industrial networking and software standards to support system reliability.
  • Partner with sales teams to craft compelling solutions that broaden our service and controls offering.
  • Tailor function blocks and PLC code to meet project-specific needs.
  • Act as the key commissioning support on major deployments, ensuring smooth start-ups and optimal performance.

Key Technical Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years in a comparable role involving automation R&D and on-site project delivery.
  • Proven experience with PLC programming, ideally Siemens and comfort across multiple languages (ST, ladder logic).
  • Exposure to the warehouse logistics or FMCG automation environment will be highly valued.
  • Solid grasp of industrial networking and electrical schematics.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites during critical phases.
  • Clear communicator who thrives on cross-team collaboration and innovative problem-solving.
