Our client is a well-established poultry producer, supplying high-quality products to leading retailers, foodservice, and export markets. Known for operational excellence and commitment to animal welfare, they are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support the running of day-to-day poultry production and play a vital role in site performance and efficiency.

The Role:
As Assistant Operations Manager, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to oversee live bird handling, processing, and production operations. You will help manage production teams, ensure compliance with food safety and welfare standards, and drive performance improvements across the facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with supervisory or mid-management experience to step into a key leadership role within poultry manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operations Manager in leading and managing daily poultry production operations.

  • Supervise production teams, ensuring output, yield, and efficiency targets are achieved.

  • Monitor compliance with USDA, OSHA, food safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity standards.

  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and labor management.

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, QA/technical, planning, and supply chain teams.

  • Help implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve yields, and boost efficiency.

  • Ensure accurate production reporting and KPI tracking.

  • Step in to cover operational leadership when required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in poultry production, food manufacturing, or a similar high-volume processing environment.

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience, with the ambition to grow into full operations management.

  • Strong understanding of food safety, compliance, and animal welfare standards.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Hands-on, proactive approach with strong leadership potential.

  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, shift-based manufacturing environment.
