CSG Talent is working with a globally recognised engineering and advisory consultancy as they continue to expand their Water Asset Management practice across Southern California and looking to add a Executive Advisor / Senior Leader.

This is a high-profile, client-facing leadership role suited to an established professional with deep experience advising municipal water and wastewater utilities. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping long-term infrastructure investment strategies, growing client relationships, and leading major advisory engagements across the region.

This is not a traditional engineering design role. Instead, you'll work directly with utility executives and senior stakeholders to help them make strategic decisions around asset management, capital investment and infrastructure planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex water and wastewater asset management advisory projects for municipal utilities and public sector clients.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with water agencies, municipalities and utility leaders throughout Southern California.
  • Drive business development activities, identify new opportunities and support the growth of the regional Water Asset Management practice.
  • Advise clients on asset management strategies, capital planning, lifecycle optimisation, condition assessment programmes and risk-based investment planning.
  • Act as Project Director or Executive Sponsor on major advisory engagements, ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, advisory and digital services.
  • Mentor and develop technical professionals while contributing to the long-term growth of the business.
  • Collaborate with regional and national leadership teams to develop new service offerings and strategic growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering discipline.
  • 20+ years' experience within the municipal water and wastewater sector.
  • Strong background in infrastructure asset management, capital planning or utility advisory services.
  • Demonstrated success developing and maintaining executive-level client relationships.
  • Proven business development and seller-doer experience.
  • Experience leading large, multidisciplinary projects and teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience developing proposals, scopes and winning new work.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ideal Background

We're particularly interested in professionals with experience working for leading engineering consultancies, infrastructure advisory firms or municipal water utilities, with expertise in:

  • Water Asset Management
  • Wastewater Infrastructure
  • Capital Improvement Programs (CIP)
  • Asset Lifecycle Planning
  • Infrastructure Advisory
  • Enterprise Asset Management
  • Risk-Based Asset Management
  • Utility Strategy
  • Infrastructure Investment Planning

If you're an established leader looking to combine strategic advisory, business development and client leadership within the municipal water sector, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
