Accountant - Germany

Snr Accountant

Based: Darmstadt

Salary: Up to €75,000 plus bonus

CSG are representing a global medical equipment and devices manufacturer who boast being a global innovation leader in their field, we're confidentially looking for a Snr Accountant to support the Germany business which would be a great career opportunity for someone looking to move into a senior role.

Financial Accounting responsibilities:

• Preparation of the full set of accounting books and related accounting affairs
• Preparation of financial reporting and monthly reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements, ensuring accounts are correctly represented and in line with reporting standards
• Assisting with the audit process and preparing reports (accounting and tax) that comply with local statutory requirements assisted by PriceWaterhouseCoopers
• Undertake monthly revenue recognition checks
• Preparation and posting of journals, manual and using GLSU
• Review of General Ledgers, reclassifications and cleaning as required
• Preparation and review of accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
• Credit control/accounts payable/concur and other tasks where necessary

Taxes & Compliance responsibilities:

• Review of General Ledger postings to ensure VAT and tax flags are correct
• Preparation and first level review of Country specific VAT and EC returns and ensuring compliance with VAT guidelines
• Preparation of Corporation Tax preparations and calculations

Experience required:

• A relevant Accounting or Business qualification with strong previous experience in an accounting role, ideally no less than 2 years in a similar role
• Experience of supporting annual audits and legal filings
• Knowledge and professional experience of SAP
