Vice President of Applications

A well-established U.S.-based industrial automation and engineered solutions organisation is seeking a VP of Applications to lead the strategy, performance, and modernization of its business-critical application landscape. This is a senior, high-impact leadership role for someone who can align technology to operational priorities and deliver measurable outcomes across the enterprise.

The opportunity

Reporting into senior leadership, you will own the end-to-end applications function-driving a clear roadmap, strengthening governance, and ensuring the organisation's platforms are scalable, secure, and fit for growth. You'll work cross-functionally with key stakeholders across operations, finance, commercial teams, and IT.


Key responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise applications strategy and roadmap
  • Lead delivery across core platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, finance, HR, analytics/reporting, integrations)
  • Establish strong governance (prioritisation, change control, release management, documentation)
  • Improve system reliability, data quality, and user adoption through standardisation and optimisation
  • Manage budgets, vendors/partners, and service performance with clear KPIs and accountability
  • Ensure appropriate security, compliance, and risk management across applications and data
  • Build and develop a high-performing team and operating model (internal and/or external resources)

What we're looking for

  • Proven leadership experience owning enterprise applications at Director/VP level
  • A track record delivering complex transformation programmes (implementations, upgrades, integrations)
  • Strong stakeholder management-able to influence across functions and at executive level
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on leadership capacity (strategy + delivery)
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, automation, engineered products, or similar environments is beneficial
