Flight Dynamics & Controls Engineer - UAS

We're looking for an engineer to develop and evaluate flight control and simulation capabilities for unmanned aircraft. This role brings together flight dynamics, control design and practical software development.

What you'll do

• Build and refine aircraft dynamics and control models.

• Develop and assess flight control and autopilot functions.

• Run simulations across different flight conditions and investigate unexpected results.

• Analyse performance and recommend improvements.

• Document your methods and findings for the wider engineering team.

What we're looking for

• U.S. citizenship.

• A PhD in aerospace engineering, controls or a related field.

• Practical experience with aircraft flight dynamics and control system design.

• Experience developing or assessing controls for unmanned aircraft.

• Strong MATLAB, Simulink and Python skills.

Experience with guidance algorithms, fixed-wing or rotorcraft modelling, or C++ would be useful.
