Training & Development Supervisor

As part of its continued growth and investment in operational excellence, we have been retained to recruit a Training & Development Supervisor to support production operations at one of its flagship processing facilities.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager or Operations Manager, the Training & Development Supervisor will lead all production-focused training initiatives across the facility. You will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive training programs that ensure production employees, team leaders, and supervisors are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the highest food safety and quality standards.

Working closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Safety, and Human Resources, you will help create a culture where continuous learning supports operational excellence and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all production training and workforce development programs across the manufacturing facility.
• Design and deliver structured onboarding and orientation programs for new production employees.
• Develop standardized training materials, SOPs, work instructions, and competency-based certification programs.
• Partner with Production Managers and Supervisors to identify skills gaps and implement targeted development plans.
• Ensure employees are fully trained on production processes, equipment operation, food safety, quality systems, and workplace safety procedures.
• Coordinate cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility and operational efficiency.
• Support leadership development programs for Team Leads, Supervisors, and high-potential production employees.
• Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with USDA, FSIS, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, and company training requirements.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through audits, observations, production metrics, and employee feedback.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Food Safety, Maintenance, and HR to standardize best practices across all shifts and departments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee capability, productivity, quality, and retention.
• Promote a positive learning culture focused on accountability, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Education, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in training, learning and development, operations leadership, or production supervision within poultry processing, food manufacturing, or another high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing and delivering training programs for hourly manufacturing employees.
• Strong understanding of poultry processing operations and USDA-inspected manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of USDA, FSIS, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, and food safety regulations.
• Experience creating SOPs, standardized work instructions, competency assessments, and production training documentation.
• Strong presentation, coaching, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desirable.
