We are representing an established, privately owned heavy equipment and parts business seeking an experienced Territory Sales Representative to take responsibility for a highly established and successful territory in the St. Louis market.
The business has experienced significant growth, and has built its reputation around long-term customer relationships, strong technical and parts support, and an entrepreneurial culture that gives its salespeople significant autonomy.
This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-driven salesperson who wants to take ownership of an established customer base while continuing to develop new business across the aggregates and heavy equipment market.
Take ownership of an established territory across the St. Louis/Missouri market.
Manage and develop relationships with existing aggregate producers, quarries and heavy equipment customers.
Build trusted, long-term relationships with plant managers, maintenance teams, purchasing teams and operational stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to increase parts, wear products and equipment sales across existing accounts.
Develop new customers and expand market share throughout the territory.
Sell and support a broad portfolio of products associated with crushing, screening, conveying and aggregate processing equipment.
Work with customers on requirements relating to products including screening media, conveyor components, belting, idlers, wear parts and crusher components.
Leverage an expanding product portfolio and dealership relationships to increase penetration within existing accounts.
Work closely with the company's internal parts and technical teams to provide responsive customer support.
Maintain regular face-to-face contact with customers and proactively manage territory activity.
Plan and manage your own schedule with a high degree of independence.
Represent the company at relevant trade shows, association meetings and customer events.
The successful candidate will ideally bring previous sales experience within aggregates, mining, heavy equipment, construction equipment, industrial parts or a closely related market.
Direct crushing and screening experience would be advantageous but is not essential. The company is open to candidates from adjacent industries who have the right customer-facing capabilities, technical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment.
You should be:
An experienced and credible relationship-based salesperson.
Self-motivated and comfortable operating with minimal supervision.
Commercially driven while maintaining a strong customer-service mentality.
Comfortable managing both established accounts and new business development.
Able to build relationships across multiple levels of a customer's organisation.
Technically capable enough to understand customer conversations around industrial equipment and replacement parts.
Familiar with terminology associated with products such as conveyor belting, idlers, screening media, crusher wear components and related equipment.
Organised and capable of independently managing a geographic sales territory.
Comfortable spending significant time in front of customers and visiting quarry/aggregate sites.
Experience within an equipment dealer, OEM, distributor, aggregate producer or industrial parts organisation would all be considered relevant.
Ultimately, the business places greater emphasis on attitude, work ethic, autonomy and relationship-building ability than coming from one specific competitor or product background.
