A well established manufacturer in the building materials space is looking to bring on a Technical Services Engineer - Structural Specialist to join their Western Sydney team.

This is a hands on, technically focused role sitting within the technical function, working closely with commercial teams and customers to support the design and application of facade and panel systems.

You will play a key role in helping clients correctly specify products, providing guidance across structural performance, thermal, fire and weather considerations.

The Role

You will be the key technical point of expertise across a range of building envelope products, supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

• Responding to technical queries from sales and project teams
• Reviewing drawings, plans and specifications
• Recommending suitable solutions across facade, roofing and panel systems
• Supporting design and application of facade systems
• Carrying out basic structural calculations to demonstrate span and performance
• Advising on installation methods and attachment to structures
• Assisting with thermal, fire, acoustic and weather performance considerations
• Preparing clear technical documentation, mark ups and sketches
• Working closely with commercial teams across live projects

About You
This role will suit someone with a strong technical foundation who enjoys applying engineering knowledge in a practical, customer facing environment.

• A degree in Engineering, Building Science, Construction or similar
• Exposure to building envelope, facade or panel based systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders
• A practical mindset with an interest in design application
• Good attention to detail and problem solving ability
• Australian PR or Citizenship required
• Driver's licence and access to a vehicle
