We'd love to hear from you. Send us your CV and one of our specialist consultants will be in touch.
Are you an experienced water resources professional who wants to shape practical, sustainable solutions for complex mining projects?
Join a growing, employee-owned environmental and engineering consultancy working across mining and other natural resource sectors. You'll be part of a close-knit, collaborative team that values integrity, trust, innovation and professional growth. Its work spans Canada and internationally, giving you the chance to contribute to varied projects and work with specialists across disciplines.
The opportunity
You'll lead and deliver water resources work for mining projects, including field programs, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and site-wide and tailings facility water balances. You'll manage projects, work with clients and technical teams, and help turn complex information into clear engineering advice.
The role is Canada-wide and hybrid, with flexibility to work from home and in an office. Some fieldwork and travel may be required, including visits to remote sites or field camps.
Manage water resources projects and support successful delivery from planning through to reporting.
Plan and carry out field programs, including surveying and water resources data collection.
Manage, interpret and analyse technical data.
Complete hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modelling.
Develop water balances for tailings facilities and mine sites.
Prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings to clients and project teams.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across water resources and other technical disciplines.
Contribute to environmental, flooding-related and other project work as needed.
A bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; an M.Sc. or M.Eng. is preferred.
Typically 10-20+ years of relevant experience, with a strong record of project management and delivery.
Professional Engineer registration in Canada, or eligibility to register with APEGS or another Canadian engineering regulator.
Experience in fieldwork, surveying, data analysis, technical reporting, and hydrologic or hydraulic modelling.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Comfort working in the field, including in remote locations when required.
Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GeoHECHMS, FLO-2D Pro, MATLAB, R and Microsoft Office is relevant to the role. Experience with GoldSim is an advantage; AutoCAD Civil 3D or GIS experience would also be beneficial.
You'll join a small, employee-owned business where people work collaboratively and have room to grow. The team offers flexibility around where and when people work, alongside support for career development and personal wellbeing. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects with a focus on responsible, sustainable outcomes.
