Senior Supervisor Shipping & Receiving - Protein

We're partnering with a leading protein manufacturer to recruit an experienced Senior Supervisor - Shipping & Receiving for one of their state-of-the-art ready-to-eat (RTE) production facilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced warehouse and logistics leader to oversee shipping, receiving, inventory control, and cold chain operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You'll play a critical role in ensuring products are received, stored, and shipped safely, accurately, and on time while driving operational efficiency and leading a high-performing team.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Distribution or Warehouse Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day shipping and receiving operations across the facility. You'll work closely with Production, Planning, FSQA, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, inventory accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory control activities.
• Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and hourly associates.
• Ensure customer orders are picked, loaded, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
• Oversee inbound raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and finished goods receiving.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock control, and warehouse management systems.
• Ensure compliance with cold chain requirements, food safety standards, GMPs, and company procedures.
• Coordinate warehouse staffing and labour planning to meet operational demands.
• Partner with Production, Planning, Transportation, and Customer Service to optimise product flow.
• Monitor key performance indicators including inventory accuracy, shipping performance, labour productivity, and on-time delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency, storage utilisation, and process optimisation.
• Ensure all material handling equipment is operated safely and maintained appropriately.
• Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits while maintaining a constant state of audit readiness.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience leading shipping, receiving, warehouse, or distribution operations within food manufacturing.
• Experience in protein, meat, poultry, ready-to-eat, or refrigerated food manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead large teams in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP platforms.
• Experience managing cold storage and temperature-controlled distribution operations.
• Working knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, HACCP principles, and warehouse compliance requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to drive performance through people.
• Forklift certification or experience with warehouse material handling equipment is advantageous.
• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline is preferred but not essential.
