About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established provider of industrial and mining process solutions, representing a portfolio of globally recognised OEMs and technology partners. With a strong presence across Africa, they deliver capital equipment and engineered solutions into mining, aggregates, minerals processing and heavy industrial markets.
As part of their continued growth strategy, they are seeking a commercially driven Capital Equipment Sales Manager to lead business development activities across Africa. This is a high-impact role focused on identifying new opportunities, developing customer relationships and delivering complex capital equipment projects.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced hunter who enjoys engaging directly with customers, uncovering opportunities and driving projects from initial engagement through to contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow market share across Africa.
- Identify, qualify and pursue new capital equipment opportunities within mining, aggregates and mineral processing sectors.
- Build strong relationships with mine operators, EPCs, engineering consultants and key stakeholders.
- Manage complex sales cycles from prospecting through to contract negotiation and close.
- Work closely with OEM and technology partners to develop customer solutions.
- Deliver technical and commercial proposals aligned to customer requirements.
- Maintain an active pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasting.
- Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions and customer meetings.
- Support the development and expansion of the regional sales team.
- Travel extensively throughout Africa to support customers and project opportunities.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially focused sales professional with experience selling capital equipment into mining or related industries.
Required Experience
- Proven experience selling capital equipment or engineered solutions.
- Strong hunter mentality with a track record of winning new business.
- Experience managing long sales cycles and complex commercial negotiations.
- Background in mining, aggregates, quarrying, minerals processing or related heavy industries.
- Experience working across multiple African markets.
- Strong commercial, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with international stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Africa and internationally.
Preferred Experience
Experience selling one or more of the following:
- Crushing and screening equipment
- Mineral processing plants
- Separation technologies
- Bulk material handling systems
- Process plant solutions
- Comminution equipment
- Beneficiation technologies
