My client is a leading, globally recognised manufacturer within the consumer products sector. We are looking to identify an experienced Senior Product Engineer. This is a key role focused on developing innovative, safety-critical products for the North American market within a highly regulated industry.

The Role
As a Senior Product Engineer, you will lead the development of next-generation products from concept through to launch. Working within a collaborative R&D environment, you will drive design innovation, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-performance solutions that meet both consumer and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product development including concept generation, design, prototyping, validation, and launch
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies to drive innovation and market growth
  • Ensure all products meet stringent safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct competitor bench marking and gap analysis to inform design improvements
  • Perform detailed engineering analysis including DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacture/assembly
  • Develop and manage technical documentation, specifications, and validation plans
  • Troubleshoot design and testing issues, implementing effective engineering solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to deliver projects successfully
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, and performance

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline); advanced degree desirable
  • Significant experience in product design engineering within consumer or regulated industries
  • Strong CAD expertise (SolidWorks or similar) with experience in complex assemblies
  • In-depth knowledge of plastic injection moulding; additional manufacturing experience beneficial
  • Familiarity with testing and validation processes for safety-critical products
  • Experience using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. DFMEA, 8D, A3)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across global teams
