Senior Mining Engineer

Senior Mine Engineer - Underground Gold
Roster: Monday to Friday or 4/3 roster
Relocation: Required to Ontario

The role will support the delivery of safe, practical and commercially sound mine plans across an underground gold operation. You will be involved in short, medium and long-term planning, ventilation and infrastructure design, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting support and operational coordination.

A key part of the position will be providing technical leadership across the engineering function, including mentoring planners, EITs, technicians and students, while working closely with operations to ensure plans are executable and aligned with production targets.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Short, medium and long-term mine planning and scheduling

• Ventilation, infrastructure and geotechnical design input

• Stope reconciliations, reporting and planning meetings

• Supporting annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

• Leading or coordinating technical projects with operations and contractors

• Mentoring junior engineers, planners, technicians and students

• Reviewing mining methods, sequencing and extraction options

• Ensuring engineering work aligns with safety, regulatory and operational standards

The ideal background:

• P.eng

• 5+ years experience

• Strong background in narrow-vein, long-hole and conventional underground mining methods

• Experience supervising or mentoring technical staff

• Working knowledge of mine planning, scheduling, CAD and Microsoft Office tools

• Deswik and AutoCAD experience would be well regarded

• Experience with underground water management, seismic systems or paste fill would be advantageous

• Must be eligible to work in Canada
