Senior Mechanical Engineer - Healthcare

Tampa, Florida | Hybrid | Full Time

Are you a Mechanical PE with healthcare design experience who wants to lead significant projects, mentor engineers and remain involved in technical delivery?

CSG Talent is partnering with an established, employee-owned engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to its growing healthcare team in Tampa.

The firm is consistently ranked among the country's largest multidisciplinary building engineering consultancies and has been delivering healthcare projects for more than 70 years. Its portfolio includes major hospitals, cancer centers, emergency departments, outpatient facilities and complex renovation projects.

This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in the Tampa office.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead healthcare projects from initial concept through completion of construction. You will work directly with clients, manage project teams and provide technical leadership across the mechanical discipline.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading mechanical engineering projects of varying sizes and complexity

  • Designing and overseeing HVAC and associated mechanical building systems

  • Managing projects from concept and design through construction administration

  • Coordinating with in-house electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural and technology teams

  • Maintaining project schedules, budgets and technical deliverables

  • Building strong relationships with healthcare clients and architectural partners

  • Reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications, RFIs and submittals

  • Supervising the day-to-day work of junior engineers and designers

  • Mentoring staff in both technical knowledge and career development

  • Supporting technical quality and successful project outcomes

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • At least 10 years of experience within an A/E or MEP consulting environment

  • Proven healthcare design experience

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and healthcare engineering requirements

  • Demonstrated success managing projects and multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience working directly with clients and representing the mechanical discipline in meetings

  • Proficiency with Revit and relevant mechanical design software

  • Strong written, verbal and technical communication skills
