Senior Interior Designer - Studio Leader

We are partnered with a mid-size, design-led architecture practice in Washington, DC with a strong Multifamily, Mixed Use & Workplace portfolio and a collaborative studio culture. They're hiring a Senior Interior Designer - Studio Leader to strengthen and lead their interiors capability.

This is a senior strategic hire into a merged interiors and architecture environment. The firm has an established interiors team but no dedicated leader, creating a clear opportunity to step in, set direction, and elevate performance.

What you'll lead

• Interior design delivery across multifamily, student housing, and office-to-residential conversion projects

• Day-to-day leadership and mentorship of an interiors team of eight

• Integration of interiors within architectural project teams

• Improvement of project efficiency, delivery standards, and profitability

• Client-facing leadership and design oversight on residential-led work

• Business development support, including developing and growing interiors-led opportunities

What they're looking for

• 15+ years of interior design experience

• Strong background in multifamily, residential, and/or conversion projects

• Senior-level delivery experience within an architecture-led environment

• Comfortable operating with autonomy in a mid-size studio

• Business development experience or client relationships preferred

• Licensed Interior Designer
