Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Full-Time, Onsite)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join a growing engineering team responsible for building, securing, and scaling modern cloud platforms.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys working across software delivery, cloud infrastructure, automation, and security. You will help design and improve secure CI/CD practices, strengthen engineering workflows, and enable teams to deliver reliable software through automation and modern cloud technologies.

The Role

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will:

• Manage and enhance GitLab environments, including CI/CD pipelines, runners, and security capabilities
• Design and maintain automated build, test, security validation, and deployment workflows
• Build, secure, and manage containerised applications and image pipelines
• Develop automated infrastructure solutions using AWS services and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Implement security tooling across development pipelines, including code analysis, vulnerability scanning, dependency checks, secrets detection, and software inventory processes
• Automate cloud infrastructure using technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
• Support secure cloud architecture and modern security practices
• Improve operational visibility through reporting, monitoring, and documentation
• Partner with engineering teams to promote DevSecOps principles and best practices
• Mentor engineers and contribute to improving development standards

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
• Strong practical experience with AWS cloud environments
• Experience managing GitLab and building CI/CD automation
• Experience with Docker, OCI containers, and modern application delivery practices
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or similar tools
• Experience integrating security tools into software delivery pipelines
• Strong scripting ability, preferably with Python
• Experience working in security-conscious or compliance-driven environments
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Desirable Experience

Experience with some of the following would be beneficial:

• Cloud security architecture
• Zero Trust principles
• Security automation and software supply chain practices
• Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) generation
• Application security tooling
• Security frameworks such as NIST or similar standards
• Cloud governance and compliance
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms
