An established commercial roofing contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its growing team in Michigan. The company specialises in commercial and industrial roofing projects, providing high-quality roofing solutions across a diverse range of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimating professional to take ownership of the bidding process, contribute to business growth and play a key role in securing profitable projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full estimating process, from initial bid review through to final proposal submission. Duties will include reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation; completing detailed material and labour take-offs; preparing accurate cost estimates and bid proposals; obtaining and negotiating supplier and subcontractor pricing; identifying project risks and potential cost savings; and ensuring estimates are competitive while maintaining appropriate margins. You will also liaise with general contractors, clients, vendors and internal project teams, attend pre-bid meetings and support the handover of awarded projects to operations.

Candidates should have extensive experience estimating within the commercial roofing industry, ideally with a background in large-scale commercial and industrial projects. A strong understanding of roofing systems, installation methods, construction drawings, specifications, labour requirements and material pricing is essential. Experience with TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen and other low-slope roofing applications would be highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, commercially astute and capable of managing multiple complex bids and deadlines independently. Experience with roofing estimating software, The EDGE and Bluebeam would also be beneficial.
