The Director of Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth, margin expansion, and market share across poultry product lines. This role leads strategic customer relationships, oversees sales execution, and partners cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, FSQA, and Finance to deliver profitable growth while maintaining best-in-class service levels.
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives across retail, foodservice, and/or industrial poultry channels.
Own revenue, volume, and margin targets; manage pricing strategies in alignment with market conditions and cost structures.
Identify new business opportunities, customer segments, and product innovations to expand market presence.
Key Account & Customer Management
Lead relationships with key national and regional customers, including contract negotiations, pricing agreements, and long-term partnerships.
Serve as the senior escalation point for customer issues, ensuring timely resolution and sustained customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with FSQA and Operations to ensure customer specifications, service expectations, and compliance requirements are consistently met.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team, including account managers and regional sales leaders.
Establish performance metrics, incentives, and accountability structures to drive results.
Foster a customer-centric, data-driven sales culture.
Forecasting, Analytics & Planning
Own sales forecasting, demand planning inputs, and budget development in partnership with Finance and Supply Chain.
Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer data to inform pricing, promotions, and capacity planning.
Drive disciplined CRM usage and sales pipeline management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to align customer commitments with production capabilities.
Work closely with Marketing, R&D, and Product Management on product launches, line extensions, and value-added offerings.
Support executive leadership with market insights and strategic recommendations.
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
8+ years of progressive sales experience in poultry, protein, or food manufacturing.
Proven success managing large national or regional accounts and complex customer negotiations.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing pricing, margins, and forecasts.
Demonstrated leadership experience building and managing high-performing sales teams.
Preferred
Experience selling into major retail, foodservice, or QSR customers.
Knowledge of poultry supply chains, market pricing dynamics, and commodity risk.
MBA or advanced degree a plus.
Willingness to travel as required to support customer and business need
