Project Manager / Senior Project Manager | Health

  • Take the lead on hospital projects that keep critical healthcare running for Queenslanders
  • Join a boutique Brisbane consultancy where you work directly with the directors and your input is genuinely valued
  • A clear step up for an experienced PM, or a strong platform for a newer SPM ready to make their mark

The Opportunity

Our client is a well-regarded, Queensland-based project management and advisory consultancy, delivering projects for public and private sector clients across health, infrastructure, commercial, sport and recreation, and residential.

With a growing pipeline of hospital work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of health projects across South East Queensland. The level of the appointment will be shaped around the right person.

The Role

You will manage a portfolio of predominantly brownfield hospital projects, typically ranging from $2 million to $20 million, with some new build work. Delivering in live clinical environments, you will balance construction delivery with the operational needs of hospital staff and patients, while acting as the trusted adviser to your clients.

This is a client-facing consultancy role. The business values face-to-face relationships with clients and a strong office culture, working from a Brisbane CBD base with flexibility to work from home when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of hospital projects from planning and design through procurement, construction and handover.
  • Manage refurbishment and upgrade works within live, operational hospital environments, minimising disruption to clinical services.
  • Coordinate design consultant teams and ensure technical, compliance and infection control requirements are addressed.
  • Manage procurement, tender processes and contractor engagement.
  • Administer contracts, including Superintendent or Superintendent's Representative duties where required.
  • Oversee budgets, cost control, programme and risk, with clear and timely client reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, clinical end users, facilities teams, consultants and contractors.
  • Support the growth of the business by delivering great outcomes and strengthening repeat client relationships.

About You

  • Hospital project experience is essential, ideally including brownfield or refurbishment work within operational clinical settings.
  • An experienced Project Manager ready for the next step, or a Senior Project Manager early in the role.
  • Client-side project management experience on projects in the $2 million to $20 million range.
  • Strong understanding of design, procurement, contract administration and construction delivery.
  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Comfortable working primarily from the Brisbane office and on site with clients.
  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, construction management, architecture, engineering or a related discipline.

What's on Offer

  • A steady pipeline of meaningful hospital projects with real community impact.
  • Direct exposure to the directors and the chance to shape your role within a boutique team.
  • A collaborative, people-focused office culture in the Brisbane CBD.
  • Genuine career progression as the business continues to grow.
