We are recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturer for a Production Supervisor to join their team on a 1st shift at a fully cooked (RTE) poultry processing site.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, hands-on leader to take ownership of shift performance in a fast-paced, high-care environment, with strong visibility and progression opportunities.
The Role
As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading day shift operations, ensuring production plans are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with food safety and quality standards. You'll play a key role in driving team performance, improving efficiencies, and maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Leadership
- Lead and supervise production teams on 1st shift (days)
- Drive performance against production targets, yield, and labour efficiency
- Manage staffing levels, attendance, and team performance
- Ensure effective shift handovers and communication across departments
Operations & Performance
- Deliver daily production plans in line with business requirements
- Monitor and optimise key processes within an RTE environment (cooking, chilling, slicing, packing)
- Identify and resolve operational issues to minimise downtime and waste
- Work closely with engineering to address equipment-related challenges
Food Safety & Quality
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, and hygiene standards
- Maintain GMP and high-care standards across all production areas
- Work closely with FSQA teams to ensure adherence to site procedures and CCP controls
Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in efficiency, yield, and waste reduction
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Use KPIs and data to identify trends and implement corrective actions
People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of operatives and line leaders
- Build a positive, high-performance culture on shift
- Support training, onboarding, and ongoing development
About You
- Experience in a Production Supervisor or Team Leader role within food manufacturing
- Background in poultry or RTE/fully cooked environments desirable
- Strong understanding of production processes in high-volume environments
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP awareness beneficial)
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
- Hands-on, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
