CSG are supporting an innovative clean technology company in their search for a Product Development Engineer to support the next phase of development and scale up for a breakthrough hardware platform focused on more sustainable critical minerals extraction and resource recovery.
This is a high impact opportunity for someone who enjoys taking products from concept through prototype, testing, iteration, and into scalable deployment. The role is especially well suited to an engineer with a strong mechanical background who is excited by hands on development, field validation, and solving practical engineering challenges in demanding real world environments.
Working at the intersection of mechanical design, prototyping, field operations and product scale up, this individual will play a central role in translating pilot learnings into robust product improvements and commercially viable hardware solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading rapid prototyping and test workflows to improve hardware and supporting systems
Translating field and pilot feedback into practical design iterations
Driving design-build-test cycles for core product components
Conducting lab and field validation, benchmarking performance, and documenting results
Supporting the development of deployment, maintenance, and packaging solutions
Collaborating closely across mechanical, chemical, field, and data teams
Engaging manufacturing partners to support the transition from prototype to scalable production
Owning elements of the product development roadmap and helping prepare validated designs for larger scale rollout
The ideal candidate will bring:
Around 4-6 years of product development experience, ideally within mechanical, hardware, industrial, or climate-tech environments
A mechanical engineering foundation, with strong understanding of physical product development and component design
Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as OnShape, Creo, or similar
Experience with rapid prototyping, including methods such as 3D printing, CNC machining, composites, or polymer based fabrication
Strong experimental mindset, with the ability to design tests, interpret results, and drive data led iteration
Familiarity with fluid systems, materials behaviour, and field based equipment testing
Experience working with external manufacturers and helping products progress from prototype through pilot into production
The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
A Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline would be highly attractive. Exposure to environmental, water, energy, or other climate tech hardware applications would also be beneficial.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, mechanically minded engineer who wants to work on tangible technology with real industrial and sustainability impact.
