Human Resources Manager

Private Equity-Backed Food Manufacturing |

An established, private equity-backed food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead people operations at one of its manufacturing facilities in Texas.

This is a hands-on, site-based leadership position, working closely with plant leadership and the wider HR function to strengthen workforce performance, develop talent, improve employee engagement, and ensure HR practices support the company's operational and commercial objectives.

The successful candidate will combine strong HR generalist expertise with the ability to influence leaders, navigate complex employee relations matters, and build a positive, accountable culture in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Please note that this role requires relocation to Texas with relocation assistance provided to help facilitate the move. It is an on-site role based at the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site HR Leadership: Act as a trusted partner to plant leadership, providing practical advice, coaching, and guidance on people-related matters while promoting a positive and consistent workplace culture.

  • Employee Relations: Lead and support the resolution of complex employee issues, including investigations, disciplinary matters, performance concerns, and other sensitive situations.

  • Workforce Planning & Recruitment: Develop staffing strategies to meet operational requirements, oversee hourly workforce recruitment, and coordinate salaried hiring alongside the broader talent acquisition team.

  • Performance & Development: Drive performance management, goal setting, and review processes, ensuring leaders are equipped to manage performance and develop their teams effectively.

  • Talent & Succession Planning: Work with HR and Operations leaders to identify future workforce requirements, strengthen talent pipelines, improve retention, and support succession planning.

  • Employee Engagement & Communications: Develop site-level communication initiatives and support engagement activities, ensuring employees understand company policies, benefits, compensation, and performance-related processes.

  • Organisational Effectiveness: Partner with department heads on organisational design, workforce structures, job descriptions, and role clarity to support operational effectiveness.

  • HR Administration & Compliance: Oversee and coordinate key HR processes, including onboarding, terminations, workers' compensation, unemployment matters, and compliance with applicable employment requirements.

  • Health & Safety Partnership: Collaborate with Operations and Safety teams to reinforce a strong safety culture and support employee wellbeing and return-to-work initiatives.

  • Training & Capability Building: Identify workforce development needs, establish training priorities and budgets, and coordinate internal or external programmes to improve employee and leadership capability.

  • HR Systems & Processes: Support the effective use of HR systems, policies, and processes to improve consistency, efficiency, and workforce management across the facility.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related discipline.

  • At least five years of experience managing HR functions, with broad exposure to recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and organisational development.

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.

  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally supporting a diverse hourly workforce.

  • Comfortable working directly with plant leadership and managing both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day operational requirements.

  • Experience using HR information systems (HRIS); familiarity with UKG would be advantageous.

  • HR certification preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to take ownership of site-level HR in a food manufacturing business backed by private equity, with the scope to influence workforce strategy, strengthen leadership capability, and contribute directly to plant performance.

The role would suit an HR professional who enjoys being close to operations, building relationships across the workforce, and balancing strategic people initiatives with the practical demands of a manufacturing facility.
