Plant Manager - Baked Goods Manufacturing
You will take full ownership of a growing baked goods manufacturing site, leading day-to-day operations across production, maintenance, quality, and safety. This is a hands-on leadership role where you can make a visible impact on performance, culture, and output.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Leading all site operations across a 50-person team in a fast-paced bakery environment
- Driving production performance across key KPIs (OEE, throughput, yield, waste, downtime)
- Owning food safety and quality standards (GMP, HACCP, audits, customer compliance)
- Building and developing your team, from supervisors through to operators
- Implementing and improving processes across production flow, scheduling, and efficiency
- Partnering with maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Managing labour, cost control, and overall site performance against budget
- Creating a strong safety-first culture across the plant
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience leading a food manufacturing site (bakery experience strongly preferred)
- Hands-on Plant Manager or Senior Production/Operations Manager ready to step up
- Strong understanding of high-volume production and short shelf-life products
- Experience with CI/Lean, TPM, or similar operational improvement frameworks
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, BRC/SQF)
- A visible, floor-based leader who can engage and motivate teams
