Payroll Officer

Our client is a leading building materials manufacturer, known throughout the industry for the quality of their products and a strong, supportive team culture. This is a great opportunity to join a well established and highly regarded organisation as they bring on an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team.

This role will suit someone who takes pride in accuracy, compliance, and delivering a smooth payroll process for employees at every level of the business.

The Role

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of full end to end payroll, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and internal standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the accurate full end to end processing of payroll
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to relevant regulations and standards
  • Interpreting and applying EBA and award conditions to ensure payroll accuracy
  • Managing employee termination processes with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Documenting payroll processes and procedures
  • Assisting with the electronic archiving of old payroll documents
  • Identifying and delivering improvements to payroll processing time

About You

  • Proven experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply EBA and award conditions to payroll processes
  • Experience managing employee terminations with attention to detail and adherence to company policy
  • Strong knowledge of superannuation calculations and associated compliance requirements
  • Micropay experience preferred
