National Sales & Channel Manager - UK/Ire

Salary/bonus: Up to £90,000 basic, £20,000 bonus, car and benefits

Based: England, remote

The Opportunity

Our client is an established UK resus medical equipment and devices business with more than 20 years' experience building trusted relationships across emergency care, public access and resuscitation.

The business has a significant installed customer base spanning the NHS, Blue Light services, workplaces, education, community and commercial sectors and is now entering an exciting next stage of growth.

We are looking for an experienced National Sales Manager to lead the Regional Sales Team and bring greater structure, consistency and commercial focus to the national sales operation.

This is a role for a sales leader who can combine strong people leadership with hands on commercial execution. You will be responsible for translating commercial strategy into action, strengthening pipeline and forecasting control and management, developing the sales team and converting market opportunity into sustainable revenue and profit growth.

As National Sales Manager you will play a central role in making that model work effectively, while retaining the regional ownership and entrepreneurial approach that enable Regional Sales Managers to identify and win business in their markets.

The Role

This is a hands on national sales leadership position rather than a role managed primarily through reports and meetings. You will spend meaningful time in the field with the team, coaching on live opportunities, developing selling capability, understanding customer needs and removing barriers to growth. Alongside this you will establish the structure and discipline required to support a high performing national sales function.

You will have responsibility for national sales performance including revenue and gross profit, while developing the people, processes and commercial methods with the aim of achieving sustainable and continued growth.

The role will require you to balance:

  • Existing customer growth with new business development
  • Regional ownership with national priorities
  • Coaching with accountability
  • Direct sales with channel and distribution partners
  • Short-term revenue delivery with longer-term market development
  • Commercial strategy with practical customer and market insight

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced sales leader who combines commercial rigour with a practical people focused approach.

You will ideally bring:

  • A proven track record of sales leadership within medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals or another similarly complex commercial environment.
  • Experience leading field based sales teams and demonstrable success in improving individual and team performance.
  • A hands on coaching style and confidence having challenging performance conversations when required.
  • Strong commercial understanding across revenue, gross profit, pricing, customer value and sales prioritisation.
  • A disciplined approach to CRM, pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Experience winning new business while retaining, developing and growing existing customers.
  • The ability to lead change and introduce greater structure within an SME environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Resuscitation or emergency medical equipment and devices experience
  • Experience working with NHS organisations, Blue Light services, NHS Supply Chain or public sector procurement frameworks.
  • Distributor, channel partner or indirect B2B management.

If you feel the above sounds of interest and aligns with your experience, please apply and we will be in touch. For the sake of transparency, our search and needs are very specific as outlined and unfortunately if you do not possess the knowledge and experience required we cannot consider your application at this time.
