Mine Superintendent
Sector: Mining Operations (Underground)

A well-established, privately held natural resources producer is seeking a Mine Superintendent to lead all aspects of mining operations at one of its underground sites. This is a senior operational leadership role reporting into site management, with strong exposure to budgeting, EHS strategy, and regulatory compliance.

The Role:

The successful candidate will take ownership of production efficiency, safety performance, and cost control across the mine, while developing and executing short and mid-range operational plans in collaboration with the broader site leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional departments to shape both short and long-term mine planning and operational strategy
  • Lead through front-line supervisors to translate operational targets into daily execution, with regular reporting and performance follow-up
  • Drive workforce planning, performance management, and development initiatives through the front-line leadership team
  • Maintain close daily coordination with the wider site team to proactively manage issues affecting production or downstream processing
  • Own the departmental budgeting cycle end-to-end, including tracking against targets and adjusting plans as conditions change
  • Manage regulatory inspection processes, ensuring documentation, findings, and corrective actions are handled promptly and effectively
  • Build a strong safety culture by setting clear EHS expectations, auditing performance, and driving continuous improvement across health, safety, and environmental practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 10+ years' experience in mine operations management, including capital project delivery
  • Relevant mine safety certification preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of mine safety regulations and best practice
  • Proficiency across standard office, budgeting, and mine planning software systems
  • Valid driver's license

Environment: Underground operation with regular exposure to outdoor and underground working conditions.
