A well-established, employee-owned engineering consultancy is hiring a PE-licensed Mechanical Engineer to step into a technical leadership role within its Buildings and Infrastructure group.

This is a hands-on design and leadership position working across education, government, commercial, and industrial projects. You will lead mechanical delivery, mentor junior engineers, and play a visible role in shaping how projects are executed.

The role

You will act as the technical lead on multi-discipline project teams, taking responsibility for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design. This includes serving as Engineer of Record, overseeing design documentation, and working directly with clients to resolve technical challenges and deliver compliant, practical solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design across a range of building and infrastructure projects
  • Produce and review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Perform engineering calculations and system evaluations
  • Carry out site visits and construction phase reviews
  • Mentor junior engineers and support workload planning
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
  • Contribute to proposals and client-facing activities

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET-accredited program
  • Active PE license in Florida preferred
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in MEP mechanical design for building projects
  • Strong Revit and AutoCAD capability
  • Confident communicator with the ability to mentor and lead technically
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines
