We are partnering with a leading protein manufacturer to identify an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance activities and support equipment reliability across its manufacturing operations.
This is a key frontline leadership position within a fast-paced production environment where equipment uptime, preventative maintenance and operational efficiency are critical to success. The successful candidate will supervise maintenance personnel, coordinate daily maintenance activities and ensure production equipment operates safely, reliably and efficiently.
Working closely with Production, Engineering, Sanitation and plant leadership, the Maintenance Supervisor will play an important role in minimizing unplanned downtime, resolving equipment issues and driving continuous improvement across the facility.
The business is seeking a hands-on maintenance leader who can effectively manage a technical team, troubleshoot complex equipment issues and establish a proactive approach to maintenance and reliability.
Maintenance Supervision: Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with production requirements.
Team Leadership: Supervise, coach and develop maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics and other technical personnel.
Preventative Maintenance: Implement and monitor preventative maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
Breakdown Response: Coordinate troubleshooting and emergency repairs, ensuring equipment issues are resolved quickly to minimize production disruption.
Equipment Reliability: Identify recurring mechanical and electrical failures, conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Production Support: Work closely with Production Supervisors and Operations leadership to prioritize maintenance tasks and maintain production targets.
Work Order Management: Oversee maintenance work orders, equipment inspections and maintenance records through the site's CMMS or maintenance tracking systems.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities follow applicable safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding and contractor safety requirements.
Food Safety & Sanitation: Ensure maintenance work is completed in accordance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements within a protein manufacturing environment.
Equipment Performance: Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve uptime, efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Parts & Inventory: Support spare parts management, ensuring critical components are available to minimize equipment downtime.
Shutdown Planning: Coordinate planned maintenance activities, equipment servicing and shutdown work to minimize operational disruption.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to maintenance processes, equipment performance and technician productivity.
Contractor Coordination: Oversee external maintenance contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed to the required standards.
Shift Handover & Communication: Maintain clear communication between maintenance shifts, Production and Engineering to ensure continuity of operations.
Performance Management: Track maintenance KPIs, including downtime, preventative maintenance completion, response times and repeat equipment failures.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced maintenance professional with strong technical capabilities and previous experience supervising maintenance teams within a manufacturing environment.
Key requirements include:
Previous experience in a Maintenance Supervisor or similar maintenance leadership role within manufacturing.
Experience in protein, meat, poultry, seafood or broader food manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills across industrial manufacturing equipment.
Experience with preventative maintenance, breakdown response and equipment reliability programs.
Previous experience leading, scheduling and developing maintenance technicians.
