Staff Mechanical Engineer | UAV | Northern California

CSG is partnered with a fast-paced UAV organisation in Northern California, hiring a Senior / Staff Mechanical Engineer with strong composite and metallic design experience. The company is backed by a strong group of venture investors, the company is progressing through commercial certification pathways with a target certification and entry-into-service timeline in the late 2020s.
They're currently looking for a Lead Aeromechanical Design Engineer to take ownership across airframe structures, aircraft architecture, and advanced composite design for a next-generation autonomous aircraft program. This is a highly hands-on role with significant technical ownership, spanning concept development through prototyping, testing, and production.
This person will support the preliminary and detailed design of primary structures, mechanisms, and electrical housings for autonomous aircraft. As a senior member of the engineering team, you'll also provide technical guidance across the wider team.
Responsibilities include:
* Design and develop autonomous aircraft structures and hardware
* Work closely with internal teams, consultants, vendors, and contractors
* Develop and execute test fixtures and infrastructure
* Support hardware integration and flight testing
* Document designs, tests, and certification information
* Provide technical guidance to other engineers
What we're looking for:
* Aircraft experience, ideally UAV, eVTOL, aviation, or aircraft structures
* CAD experience
* Composite and structural design experience
* 5+ years' mechanical engineering experience
* Comfortable working on-site
