Infrastructure Specialist
Full-time | Site-based | 7 days on / 7 days off roster
Why this role stands out:
  • Take ownership of a business-critical IT environment supporting large-scale operations
  • Broad, hands-on role across systems, networks, and infrastructure projects
  • Lifestyle-friendly 7/7 roster with flexible living options
The Opportunity
An established, globally backed organisation operating in a heavy industrial environment is looking to bring in an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to support and enhance its on-site technology landscape.
This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll be responsible for keeping systems running reliably while also contributing to upgrades, improvements, and future-focused initiatives. You'll be working closely with both technical teams and operational stakeholders, making this a highly visible role within the business.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Maintain and improve core IT systems across servers, networks, and storage environments
  • Ensure systems remain secure, stable, and fit for purpose in a 24/7 operational setting
  • Plan and deliver upgrades, patches, and infrastructure improvements
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, focusing on long-term fixes rather than quick fixes
  • Support and contribute to infrastructure-related projects
  • Work alongside internal teams to ensure technology supports operational needs without disruption
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in infrastructure, systems, or network-focused roles
  • Strong exposure to virtual environments, enterprise systems, and networking fundamentals
  • Experience working in complex, always-on environments (manufacturing, mining, logistics, or similar is a plus)
  • Ability to troubleshoot across multiple layers of IT systems
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a broader team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to cloud platforms or hybrid environments
  • Familiarity with structured IT service processes
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and system resilience strategies
  • Broader understanding of security and access controls
The Environment
This is a fast-paced, operational setting where reliability matters. The role operates on a 7/7 roster and offers flexibility depending on your situation. You can either utilise a site-based camp during your roster or live locally in a residential capacity if you're based in the nearby community.
