What the Role Entails
This site-based underground geotechnical role supports both technical and field activities across an underground operation on a 14/14 camp rotation. Working closely with the senior geotechnical lead, the position is responsible for ground control and geotechnical support to the technical services team, including assessing ground conditions, identifying geotechnical risk, conducting stability analysis and numerical modelling, maintaining the Ground Control Management Plan, and contributing to inspection, monitoring and quality control programs. The role also requires clear communication of design recommendations, input into mine design work, and active participation in site safety initiatives.
Primary Qualifications
Degree in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications advantageous.
Professional Engineer registration, or immediate eligibility for registration, in the relevant jurisdiction.
4-7 years' experience in rock mechanics, underground ground support design and geotechnical risk assessment.
Capability across rock mass classification, underground mapping, numerical modelling and mine design software; underground operating mine experience preferred.
