Health & Safety Coordinator

This is a newly created H&S Coordinator role within a growing organisation delivering projects across multiple states and sectors. The position is based in Melbourne and will support both office operations and project sites nationally.

The business places a strong emphasis on developing motivated, practical safety professionals and is open to candidates early in their safety career who demonstrate the right attitude, communication skills, and problem-solving mindset.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the H&S Manager, you will receive structured mentoring, training, and ongoing support while taking responsibility for safety coordination across active and upcoming projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting new projects (greenfield and brownfield), including operational and residential-style sites with on-site engineering and technical teams.
  • Conducting site visits, inspections, and safety reviews across VIC, NSW, QLD, SA, WA, and NZ.
  • Assisting with risk assessments, SWMS, toolbox talks, and safety documentation.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders and third-party providers to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Supporting environmental and social initiatives launching from April.
  • Assisting with ISO audits, reporting, and annual compliance requirements.
  • Promoting a practical, solutions-focused safety culture on site and in the office.

About You

  • At least 3 years' experience in a health & safety role.
  • On-site experience within construction, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (Cert III may be considered).
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Solid understanding of Australian WHS standards and legislation.
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel.
