The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join a site-based safety team at a producing mining operation in Central NSW. This hands-on role supports day-to-day safety performance, workforce training, and regulatory compliance across site operations, working closely with operational leaders and contractors.

Reporting to the H&S Manager, you will play a key role in embedding safety systems, coordinating risk assessments, supporting incident investigations, and delivering training and competency programs. This opportunity suits a proactive safety professional who enjoys being visible in the field, building strong relationships, and contributing to a strong site safety culture.

Salary: $160k + Super + Bonus
Reports To: Health & Safety Manager

Key Focus:

  • Provide hands-on WHS support and advice to operational and technical teams across site
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining safety management systems, policies, and procedure.
  • Coordinate and facilitate risk assessments, hazard identification, and control implementation
  • Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed and closed out
  • Deliver site inductions, refresher training, and role-specific safety training
  • Develop and update training packages and competency requirements for site equipment and activities
  • Support achievement of safety lead indicators, audits, and compliance targets
  • Maintain accurate safety, training, and employee records within site systems
  • Communicate safety performance through toolbox talks, meetings, reports, and presentations

Your Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in mining or heavy industry
  • Cert IV in WHS + Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Understanding of WHS legislation, standards and site-based procedures
  • Ability to identify risks and implement practical, effective controls
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, operational environment
