CSG Talent are working exclusively with a UK-based engineering scale-up developing a purpose-built heavy electric off-highway vehicle for the mining industry.

The company is transitioning from prototype validation into early commercial scale, with pre-production vehicles already operating with mining customers to generate real-world performance data.

Due to a recent successful funding round, they are hiring a Head of Sales to own commercial execution, secure early fleet customers, and convert prototype engagement into contracted revenue. This is a hands-on, hunter-led leadership role reporting directly to the CEO.

The focus market is the UK and Northern European mining industry, followed by expansion into Africa and Latin America. You will have a strong network across the mining industry, with experience in mining technology, equipment, or mine owners.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Own the full sales cycle from pipeline generation to contract close
  • Secure early mining and heavy industry fleet customers across Europe
  • Convert trials, demos, and early engagement into binding commercial agreements
  • Build and manage pipeline across mining operators, fleet leasing, and industrial customers
  • Develop and negotiate TCO-based commercial proposals with senior stakeholders
  • Deliver early fleet sales aligned to production targets
  • Maintain disciplined CRM, forecasting, and commercial reporting
  • Work closely with engineering and leadership to feed customer insight into product and pricing
  • Represent the business at customer sites, demonstrations, and industry events

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Proven success in B2B sales of complex, high-value industrial products
  • Experience selling into mining, heavy industry, utilities, infrastructure, or similar sectors
  • Background in mining technology & OEMs, fleet leasing, or industrial vehicle sales
  • Existing mining industry network across the UK
  • Experience in early-stage or scale-up hardware businesses
  • Strong hunter mentality with commercial urgency
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) and UK right to work
