Global Technical Manager - Grinding

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an internationally recognised supplier of mining consumables and mineral processing solutions to appoint a Global Technical Manager - Grinding.

This is a strategic global position responsible for providing technical leadership across the organisation's grinding media and mill liner product portfolio. The role will support commercial growth by working closely with customers, regional sales teams, product management and engineering functions to optimise grinding circuit performance and deliver technically robust solutions.

The successful candidate will become the technical authority for these product lines, driving product performance, supporting key customer projects, influencing future product development and sharing technical best practice across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the global technical lead for grinding media and mill liner products.

• Provide technical expertise to regional commercial teams throughout the sales process.

• Conduct site assessments, wear evaluations and grinding circuit reviews to identify performance improvement opportunities.

• Develop recommendations relating to grinding media selection, mill liner applications and circuit optimisation.

• Support the implementation, commissioning and ongoing optimisation of customer installations.

• Investigate product performance, wear characteristics and technical issues, providing practical recommendations and solutions.

• Work closely with engineering and product management teams to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Deliver technical presentations, customer training sessions and knowledge-sharing programmes.

• Support strategic customer opportunities through technical consultation and solution development.

• Analyse operational data to identify opportunities to improve productivity, equipment performance and overall process efficiency.

• Maintain an understanding of industry developments and emerging technologies within comminution and mineral processing.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess:

• A degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing or a related engineering discipline.

• Significant experience within grinding media, mill liners, comminution or mineral processing.

• Strong technical knowledge of:

  • SAG mills

  • Ball mills

  • Grinding media applications

  • Mill liner systems

  • Grinding circuit optimisation

• Experience supporting mining operations through technical sales, product support, process engineering or applications engineering.

• The ability to interpret plant operating data and translate findings into practical customer recommendations.

• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders.

• Experience working within a global or multi-regional business environment.

• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
