Commercial Glazing Superintendent

A well-established specialty contractor in South Florida is seeking an experienced Commercial Glazing Superintendent to join its team. The company delivers architectural glass, glazing, window, and building-envelope solutions across commercial, institutional, hospitality, and high-end construction projects.
The Superintendent will take a hands-on leadership role in the field, overseeing glazing installation, field crews, subcontractors, site coordination, safety, quality, and schedule performance. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of commercial glazing systems and the ability to coordinate effectively with Project Managers, General Contractors, foremen, and other trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise commercial glazing and window installation projects from mobilization through completion.
- Direct and coordinate glazing crews, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and installation details.
- Ensure work is installed correctly, safely, and in accordance with approved plans and project specifications.
- Coordinate daily activities with General Contractors, Project Managers, foremen, and other trades.
- Monitor project schedules and manpower requirements to maintain production and meet milestones.
- Coordinate material deliveries, staging, equipment, and site logistics.
- Inspect completed and ongoing work for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Identify and resolve field conflicts, installation issues, and potential schedule delays.
- Communicate field conditions and project updates to the Project Management team.
- Assist with layout, measurements, field verification, and coordination of shop drawings where required.
- Maintain awareness of project scope and identify potential changes or additional work.
- Enforce company and jobsite safety requirements and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Assist with punch lists, inspections, closeout, and final completion.
- Maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors, subcontractors, customers, and other trades.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial glazing or architectural glass field experience, with prior supervisory or superintendent experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial glazing systems, including curtain wall, storefront, window wall, entrances, windows, and architectural glass.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and details.
- Proven ability to lead field crews and coordinate multiple trades on active commercial jobsites.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, installation methods, and jobsite logistics.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with Project Management and General Contractor teams.
- OSHA and relevant safety certifications are a plus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites throughout South Florida as required.
