An established and highly respected commercial glazing contractor in the Houston market is looking to add an experienced Glazing Superintendent to its field operations team.

The company has a strong track record delivering complex commercial and institutional glazing projects and works across a range of systems including curtain wall, unitized curtain wall, storefront, entrances, architectural glass, structural glazing and related building-envelope systems.

The Role

The Glazing Superintendent will take responsibility for the successful day-to-day execution of commercial glazing projects in the field. This person will lead installation crews, coordinate manpower and materials, work closely with Project Managers and General Contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard of quality.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone with a strong commercial glazing background who can confidently take ownership of jobsites and solve field issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead commercial glazing crews across active jobsites.
  • Coordinate daily manpower, installation activities, equipment and material deliveries.
  • Manage field installation of curtain wall, storefront, window systems, entrances and architectural glass.
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications and installation details.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, subcontractors and other trades.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure work remains on schedule.
  • Conduct regular quality-control inspections and address installation issues promptly.
  • Identify and resolve field conditions, material issues and coordination conflicts.
  • Ensure glazing installations are completed in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
  • Enforce company and OSHA safety standards across jobsites.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
  • Communicate manpower, progress, material requirements and field issues to the Project Management team.
  • Assist with scheduling and planning upcoming installation activities.
  • Coordinate material deliveries to ensure crews have the necessary products available when required.
  • Manage punch-list activities and assist with project closeout.
  • Provide leadership, training and direction to foremen, glaziers and field personnel.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors, subcontractors and customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial glazing experience, with significant field supervision experience.
  • Previous experience as a Glazing Superintendent, Field Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Glazier or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial glazing systems, particularly curtain wall and storefront.
  • Experience with architectural glass, entrances and/or window wall systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings and specifications.
  • Proven ability to manage glazing crews and coordinate multiple trades on commercial jobsites.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make effective decisions in the field.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and project schedules.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local/regional jobsites as required.
