About the Opportunity
A leading commercial glazing contractor is seeking an experienced Glazing Superintendent to oversee field operations on large-scale commercial glazing projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction professional with strong experience in curtain wall, storefront, windows, and other architectural glazing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate commercial glazing installation crews across active projects.
- Manage day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and installation requirements.
- Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and site logistics.
- Monitor installation of curtain wall, storefront, windows, entrances, and other glazing systems.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and address quality or installation issues.
- Troubleshoot field conditions and resolve problems before they impact schedule or cost.
- Track project progress and communicate updates to project management.
- Assist with scheduling, manpower planning, material deliveries, and project coordination.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and field personnel.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure crews maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial glazing, with significant field supervision experience.
- Previous experience as a Glazing Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Installer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of curtain wall, storefront, windows, entrances, and architectural glass systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and project specifications.
- Experience managing glazing crews and coordinating multiple trades on commercial jobsites.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and jobsite logistics.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
- OSHA/Safety training and relevant glazing certifications are a plus.
