Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination

  • Obtain and evaluate pricing from glass manufacturers, aluminium suppliers, hardware vendors and other relevant subcontractors.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable lead times.

  • Compare supplier quotations, verify material specifications and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.

  • Account for material availability, fabrication requirements, freight and delivery costs when preparing estimates.

Preconstruction & Client Collaboration

  • Work closely with project management, sales and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.

  • Communicate with general contractors, construction managers, architects and clients regarding bid requirements and project scope.

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, project reviews and tender clarification discussions as required.

  • Support post-bid negotiations, scope reviews and contract handovers.

  • Assist with estimating processes, historical cost tracking and the development of standard pricing tools.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong understanding of commercial glazing systems, including storefront, curtain wall, architectural glass, entrances and aluminium framing.

  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications and construction documents.

  • Experience conducting material take-offs and preparing detailed labour and material cost estimates.

  • Knowledge of glazing materials, fabrication processes, installation methods and relevant construction practices.
